ABOUT IAIN CAMPBELL PHOTOGRAPHY
I split my time between commercial shoots and potentially ruinous personal projects – to see some of my recent work, check out the GALLERIES. Last year I published a book about the islands of Barra & Vatersay, and in 2016 I’m following it up with a book on the Isle of Skye. I’m always looking for new creative projects – if you have an interesting documentary project, get in touch and if it’s not-for-profit, I may do it for free!
I cut my teeth back in the early 90’s as a photojournalist and this is reflected in my approach to wedding work, where I adopt a documentary style and try to capture as much of the wedding day’s heady mix of high emotion, ritual and spontaneity as possible.
Having recently got married myself, I know how much planning goes into the day and how quickly it passes. From the morning preparations through to the end of the evening you’re caught up in the momentum of the day and then, all too quickly, your many months of preparation and the unique gathering of all you friends and family is over. Along with the other professionals, such as the celebrant, I see my job as helping to make your wedding day unfold as smoothly as possible and to record everything – from the major elements such as the setting and the ceremony, through to all the candid, impromptu moments and the minor details.
I’m based in the South East of England and, if practicable, I’ll meet you before the big day at the wedding venue to run through our sunny and rainy day options, answer any questions and discuss any specific requirements you may have, e.g. a list of groupshots (it’s a really good idea to plan this ahead of time and to think about how long you want to spend on these). If anything else comes to mind after we’ve met, you can always email me and I’ll get back to you as quickly as I can.
After it’s all over, I do all the post-production and editing work myself, which typically takes 3-4 days. When that’s complete (depending on how busy my schedule is but usually within one month of your wedding) I’ll upload a password protected gallery of all your photographs to my website and mail you a USB stick with an archive of high resolution files from which you can make all the prints you want. If you’d prefer me to arrange the printing, or any albums, no problem, there’s a plethora of choice out there and we can find something to suit your taste and budget.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch via the CONTACT page. Thanks, Iain.
